Q: I have been working on my home for several years, and some of the TYPAR^® I originally installed has been exposed up to two years. I’m ready to install the siding. Should I install new TYPAR^® first? If so, do I have to remove the old?

TYPAR® BuildingWrap needs to be covered within 6 months in order for your warranty to remain valid (within 12 months for TYPAR® StormWrap and MetroWrap). It is also the recommended maximum exposure time to protect against UV exposure. With this in mind, you should remove the old TYPAR® and reinstall new TYPAR® prior to the installation of siding.

 

Q: What is the warranty for TYPAR® Building Supplies?

By using the complete and properly installed TYPAR® Weather Protection System – TYPAR® Building Wraps, Flashings, and Construction Tapes – you’re backed by a Lifetime Limited System Warranty (for single-family residential applications). And importantly, that includes labor and materials.*
