FAQ - Competition
Q: What is the best way to compare TYPAR® and the competition?
It is important to make comparisons between products based on meaningful information. TYPAR® BuildingWrap was designed to pass the test in the laboratory, but more importantly, TYPAR® has proven its performance during and after construction as the "Tough Choice" for almost two decades. We hope that with this objective, meaningful information, you will be able to make an informed decision about the purchase of BuildingWrap.
Q: I was recently told your product is made by DuPont — the same people who make Tyvek®. Is this true? And what are the key differences between TYPAR® and Tyvek®?
This is probably the most-asked question that we receive. No, TYPAR® is not made by DuPont. It is manufactured by Berry Plastics in Old Hickory, TN. To see the TYPAR® Advantage, please check out the TYPAR® vs. Tyvek® comparison chart.
Q: Our builder told us that installing Tyvek® under cedar shingles may not be a good idea, but that we could install TYPAR® in that application. Is this true?
Yes. Because TYPAR® BuildingWrap has distinct advantages over any other building wrap product, TYPAR® succeeds in many applications where other products may fall short, including under shingles. Please see the TYPAR® vs. Tyvek® comparison chart.
